SHL ISSUES for 2023

To Be PRESENTED To The ENTIRE MEMBERSHIP FOR APPROVAL

At The 41st SHL ANNUAL SESSION

October 3-5, 2023 in TOPEKA, KANSAS

  1. Support Medicaid Expansion
  2. Approve Medical Marijuana
  3. Remove the “Cliff” on the income tax on social security benefits
  4. Fair voting rights for all
  5. Provide assistance for grandparents and Family members as Foster Parents

In addition, the following issues were deemed important to Kansas  Seniors, and are to be included in a Monitoring Watch List.  They are as follows:

  1. Public Transportation
  2. Broadband Expansion
  3. Property tax reduction for seniors that qualify
  4. Continued full funding for the Senior Care Act by the Kansas Legislature
